This eight week course covers all of the basic functions of Adobe's Lightroom software for digital photography and provides the photographer a complete end-to-end solution.
- Learn "best-practices" for efficient and effective digital photography workflow.
- A perfect class for photographers of all skill levels. The organization and RAW development workflow will benefit beginners and professionals alike.
- Ideal for those looking to make the leap from JPEG to RAW but have been intimidated by the complexity of the RAW develop process.
- Great for those users whose image collections have outgrown ther ability to manage and store them.
Class Focal Points
We will focus primarily on Lightroom's develop and library modules, but we will also cover RAW image processing, short and long term file storage, keywording and sorting strategies, printing within a color managed workflow, and a number of other specialized topics.

HDR
is all the rage in photo processing right now, but so much of the work
that is being produced looks overprocessed, grungy, and unnatural.
Spend a day with me learning how to shoot and process HDR images in a range of treatements from real to surreal.
We will cover:
- Setting up a camera for bracketed HDR shooting
- Converting bracketed sets from RAW to JPEG
- Processing bracketed HDR sets with Photomatix, Photoshop CS5, and Nik HDR Efex
- Post-processing your tone-mapped images to create true HDR masterpieces.
Workshop participants will be given sample sets of images to follow along with the in-class processing,

Each Module in Lightroom will be explored in greater depth with a continued emphasis on Library and Develop. This 8 week course covers more advanced features of Adobe's Lightroom software for digital photography and provides the photographer a way to move beyond the basic workflow and into better ways of organizing and expressing your unique photographic vision.
Class Focal Points:
As with the fundamentals class, we will focus primarily on Lightroom's develop and library module, but we will also cover a myriad of advanced topics including: tethered shooting, creating and applying custom camera calibration profiles, advanced schemes of organization by keyword and collection, plug-ins and other third-party extensions, storage solutions for larger libraries.
Class Lessons will include:
- Fixing mixed-up libraries - how to solve the most common organizational mistakes.
- How to split, combine and move images, folders and catalogs alike.
- How to fix misfiled or misspelled keywords and the images attached to them.
- How to deal with expanding storage needs for laptops and desktops
- "Live" exercises in the Develop module, focusing on solutions to problem images and how to use the develop module to best express your vision and voice for each image.
- How to make the most of Lightroom's print layout options to create sophistcated end products.
- Demonstrations of tethered shooting, generating calibration profiles for cameras, and more.
Class Details: Class is expected to run in late winter 2012
